Performers should wear appropriate attire to rehearsals. This includes a comfortable shirt, blouse, or leotard, and pants, shorts, or leggings that are easy to move in. Logos and lettering on shirts should be appropriate for all audiences.

Ladies other than Grandma should wear character shoes or simple pumps/high heels. Please be aware that you may be asked to purchase a pair of black character shoes if you do not already have them.

Men should wear dress shoes, with the exception of Drosselmeyer, who may be asked to purchase jazz shoes.

Dancers who wear glasses will be asked to not wear glasses on stage if they are able to dance safely without them or wear contacts. Glasses can reflect stage lights and cause distractions for audience members. In addition, glasses can fall off during performances causing a hazard for other dancers. If a dancer must wear glasses on stage, please notify the Ballet Brazos Board within two weeks of casting to discuss acceptable stage options.

All Ballet Brazos performers must adhere to the attendance policy. All Ballet Brazos rehearsals are required. To host a production of this kind, performers must be willing to commit to the entire schedule. Only two missed studio rehearsals will be excused. This excludes all rehearsals the week of the performance, as they are REQUIRED. Please do not audition if there are conflicts with work, school, sports, or family engagements.

If a performer has missed two rehearsals and will need to miss another rehearsal, for any reason, the performer may choose to pay a fine of $50 or be dismissed from Ballet Brazos. If a performer misses more than three rehearsals, their roles will be recast.

The Ballet Brazos Board may see cases where extenuating circumstances were present on a case by case basis. AT NO TIME, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, SHOULD A PERFORMER, FAMILY MEMBER OF THE PERFORMER, OR GUARDIAN CONTACT THE ARTISTIC DIRECTORS CONCERNING ABSENCES OF PERFORMERS.
